Although Ahmad Lawan was the consesus candidtae of the All Peoples Congress yet Senator Bukola Saraki has emerged as President of the 8th National Assembly.
Here are some quick facts aboit his emergence.
*Senator Saraki was elected unopposed by 57 Senator-Elects.
*Saraki was the former Chairman of Senate Committee on Environment And Ecology and member
*The new Senate President was nominated by Senator Ahmed Yerima.
*Out of the 57 who eleceted the new Senate President, 49 are from the opposing Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
*Only 8 APC Senator-Elects voted and are in support of Saraki.
*The inauguration was boycotted by 52 APC Senator-Elects loyal to the party’s consensus candidate, Ahmad Lawan
